As a creative service provider, we’re often convinced that the only way to grow our business is by creating some sort of digital product. But what happens when that doesn’t make sense for your business (like we discussed in Episode 11 of The Creative Cantina Podcast)? What then? Over the years, I’ve coached countless creatives. We’ve grown their business without burnout & in a way that was true to them. While not every solution in this podcast episode will fit for you, let’s chat through 3 ways to make more money in your business that don’t involve creating an entire new arm of your business.

(Oh – and yes, I’m FULLY aware these seem super obvious to the point where you may think to yourself, “no shit, Cassie.” Trust me. It’s still worth listening to. I’ve gone through a similar exercise (in more depth) with plenty of clients that has proved sometimes the best solutions are in the simple.

Raise Your Prices

Yeah, yeah… I can almost hear your heart beating faster through the screen. Calm down. I’m not suggesting you just arbitrarily raise them to charge “what you’re worth.” (I genuinely couldn’t hate a phrase more. Your worth can’t be measured & pricing shouldn’t be emotional.)

I’m going to walk you through a few ways you could tweak your current offer to justify a price raise, but I’m also gonna give you a loving kick in the pants because like I said, pricing shouldn’t be emotional. You may be one of those biz owners who’ve been sitting pretty on comfy pricing for too long. You know it. I know it. It’s holding you back, but not for the reasons you might think. Tune in for a perspective shift using a real client example.

Take On More Clients

Like I said, not every solution in this list of ways to make more money in your business is right for each entrepreneur. But, one common problem I see as a coach is that clients feel like they’re at an upper limit. They can’t justify charging more, but they also can’t take on more clients. They feel stuck on how to grow. But here’s the thing, they’re usually not truly at capacity. They just lack good systems.

I’ve worked with clients who were maxed out, barely sleeping, & so close to throwing in the towel go from overwhelmed working with x number of clients to working with 4x as many and thriving in life! Systems matter, my friends. So, listen in for some of my top tips for assessing your situation & setting up processes that can help you work less, while making more. No magic potions. Just some hard work and a lot of intention involved. I got you!

Increase Your Client Lifetime Value

Like stats? You’ll have to listen to get them all, but here’s one I’ll warm ya up with… did you know it’s estimated to cost 5x more to get a new client than it is to retain a current one? Woof. Okay, wanna make more money? Serve your clients in new ways, for longer.

They already trust you, so let’s make the most of that & serve them better by offering strategic upsells or add-ons. If you wanna do so without taking a ton more time out of your own schedule, I’ve got tips for that too… and no, they have nothing to do with “passive” income.
