How we got to the end of another year to quickly? I have no idea – it doesn’t seem possible. But I feel like with each new year comes the feeling of a fresh start, a blank slate, and an opportunity to do things differently! It’s like a goal-setting for business owners holiday.
Instead of telling you what you should do or how you should do it in the new year, my goal is to help you find clarity on what’s right for you by asking a lot of good questions. Honestly, I’d treat this podcast like a mini coaching exercise and come prepped with a journal.
The Top Regrets of the Dying
It might sound morbid, but I’ve been so blessed to get a few experiences in my life that reminded me of mortality. It’s shaped how I do things and even how I coach. We don’t know how long we have on this earth. I think it’s important to live as fully as we can while we’re here.
So, to start this episode, I share the top five regrets expressed by people on their death beds. If we can learn from them early, maybe we can make changes before it’s too late.
Before you can really dive into your goals for the new year, you need to take the time to review this one. What went well? What didn’t go well? What held you back? What opportunities could you embrace next year to help your business grow or help you run it more sustainably? What might get in the way? These are just a few of the questions I ask throughout the episode.
In fact, I break down all of my questions into four main reflection / lesson categories. And then at the end, leave you with a few more that can act as more of your priority / guiding compass.
Goal-Setting for Business Owners
It can be very tempting to set goals based on what others are doing / achieving. I’m challenging you to tune out the noise, put on your blinders, and stay true to what matters to you.
To end the podcast, I say a quick prayer for you to find clarity in peace in the new year.
Prioritize What Matters
If you want to make impactful changes and get your business back on track to support a life you love, this episode is a must listen. I’m done with cookie cutter answers and goals based on keeping up with the Joneses. None of it is going to matter in the end.
